There is a particular kind of loneliness that comes with loving a child the world does not understand.

It lives in waiting rooms, cancelled plans and the silence after someone offers advice without knowing the whole story. It follows you home after difficult appointments and sits beside you at three in the morning while you wonder whether you are doing enough.

For twelve years, I fought for my son through diagnoses, medications, schools, specialists and systems that gave us pieces of the picture but never the whole answer. I loved him fiercely, even when loving him was frightening, exhausting and complicated.

I began writing because I needed somewhere to tell the truth. Not the polished version. Not the version that makes other people comfortable. The real version—the fear, guilt, anger, hope and unconditional love that can exist together in one mother’s heart.

This blog is for parents and caregivers who have locked doors, cried in cars, cancelled plans and felt judged for their child’s behaviour.

Here, we will speak honestly. We will share without shame and listen without rushing to fix one another.

If any part of this feels familiar, you have found the right place.

You are not failing.

You are not alone anymore.
